Derek is a Grade 11 secondary student attending William Lyon Mackenzie C.I. in Toronto, Ontario.

Initially developing a fascination in business, Derek's interest involved multiple work experiences, a seat on FBLA Canada's National Trainers Council, along with several regional executive positions in his school and province. During Derek's journey through high school, he took huge inspiration from commendable, talented peers he met, and he believed the things he learned and gained from these people were worth sharing.

Derek founded ECLeasy with the intentions of marketing student leadership projects across Canada, in an effort to benefit both aspiring student leaders as well as the students their initiatives benefits. To accomplish this, a website and marketing service, as well as in-person congregations and exhibitions are to be developed, in an attempt to reach leaders, students, as well as educational institutions.
